Program Description

The prestigious Master of Science in Nutrition and Nutrigenomics offered through Manchester University is the first choice for anyone considering a career in the field of nutrition. This 54-credit program prepares a student for the industry-standard CDR certification exam to become a Licensed Registered Dietitian. The courses and internship program prepare graduates for a wide range of career choices in the field of nutrition, including private practice, clinical settings, community centers, research and marketing.

In addition to traditional nutrition education, Manchester’s program also includes a unique and cutting-edge component of nutrigenomics, which teaches students to prevent, treat, and manage health conditions based on a patient’s genetic composition. This improves the quality of the health care by targeting the scope of recommendations, improving efficiency as well as patient outcomes.

To be eligible for the Master’s of Nutrition program, students must earn an undergraduate degree and complete six prerequisite courses. The Sara Schenirer BA in Psychology – Nutrition Track is designed to help you meet these requirements. Detailed information on that program can be found here.

If you already earned your bachelor’s degree and would like to take just the six prerequisite courses, please click here to learn more about how to apply for those courses.

In addition to the above, the master’s program requires three additional prerequisite courses which can only be taken just prior to the start of the program. Those three courses are conveniently offered online through Manchester University several weeks prior to the start of the graduate program. Students who are accepted into the master’s program will be guided on how to satisfy this unique requirement.

The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) is the accrediting agency for education programs preparing students for careers as registered dietitian nutritionists or registered nutrition and dietetics technicians. The University’s graduate program in Nutrition & Dietetics is ACEND-accredited.

How long will it take to complete the Master of Nutrition?

How is the Sara Schenirer/ Manchester University Nutrition program unique?

There are many aspects of the program that are unique; chief among them the fact that internship and coursework are done simultaneously as part of the program. This eliminates the stress and financial burden associated with having to enroll in a separate internship program. Additionally, entry into the program is limited, allowing for individualized guidance and attention for every student.

More significantly, all courses are offered online in a convenient format, so that students can maintain (part-time) employment while completing their degree program and have the ability to complete required internship hours.

The course schedule is tailored around the Jewish calendar and ensures that accommodations are made for all Yomim Tovim.

How much does the degree cost?

The total cost for this degree, including the three prerequisite courses offered by Manchester University, is $55,000.

Please note: The listed tuition costs are accurate as of the time of writing, but are subject to change. Please ask our advisor for updated pricing.
Is financial aid available?

Student loans are available that can cover the full cost of the degree. Information on student loans is found here and through the financial aid office of Manchester University. Manchester University offers payment-plan options as well.
