The Katz School of Science and Health Master of Speech-Language Pathology program is a unique and rigorous graduate program designed for a student who wishes to enter the field of speech therapy. This 55-credit graduate degree takes a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosing and treating speech, language, and communication cases. Through our hands-on curriculum, you will engage in clinical fieldwork and practical hands-on experience under the guidance of faculty, supervisors, and mentors.

Which college have you partnered with to offer this degree?

We are proud to have partnered with Katz School of Science and Health, a prestigious college featuring one of the few SLP programs in the country specializing in the medical aspects of speech pathology. Founded as part of Yeshiva University, The Katz School of Science and Health is an academic powerhouse in the heart of New York City. Yeshiva University is a US News and World Report Top 100 university. Forbes ranks Yeshiva University as a Top 100 university in the United States, Top 50 in the Northeast, and 57th among research universities nationwide.

Will this degree lead to licensure?

Successful completion of the program prepares you to meet the academic and clinical requirements to apply for certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and state licensure.

What do speech therapists do and how much do they earn?

Speech-language pathologists assess, diagnose, treat, and help prevent communication and swallowing disorders in children and adults. Employment of speech-language pathologists is projected to grow 27 percent from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations. As the large baby-boom population ages, the number of patients with health conditions that can cause speech or language impairments, such as strokes or dementia, will continue to rise. This makes speech-language pathology an important—and stable—career path with a long future. Salaries for speech-language pathologists in NYC start around $60-70K for entry-level recent graduates and increase to $80-95K after 3-4 years of experience.
